Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Librarian who can manage our library while actively fostering a strong reading culture among students.
This role goes beyond book management—you’ll play a key part in shaping how students explore, learn, and engage with knowledge.
Key Responsibilties
Library Management
- Oversee day-to-day library operations
- Maintain cataloguing, classification, and records
- Manage book issue/return and inventory
- Ensure a well-organized, welcoming library space
Student Engagement & Reading Culture
- Encourage reading habits among students
- Curate age-appropriate books
- Organize reading programs, storytelling sessions, and activities
- Guide students in book selection
Academic Support
- Collaborate with teachers to support classroom learning
- Assist students with research and projects
- Promote information literacy and independent learning
Library Development
- Recommend and procure new books/resources
- Maintain inventory and ensure upkeep
- Contribute to building a dynamic library environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib.Sc.) or related field
- Master’s Degree (M.Lib.Sc.) is a plus
- Relevant certifications are an advantage
Experience
- 1–3 years in a school or educational setting preferred
- Experience working with children is a strong plus
