Job opening for School Librarian

Job Location: Bandra, Mumbai

About Aseema:

Aseema is a Mumbai-based NGO that is committed to equipping children from

marginalized communities with high quality, value-based education, enabling the development of their limitless potential. We run three municipal schools in Mumbai in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), and one school for tribal children in Igatpuri.

Aseema reaches out to 4,400 children living in vulnerable circumstances in urban slums and tribal communities.

Responsibilities and Duties

• To maintain the library well and ensure that the books are kept in order
• To be aware of the books available in the library and to assist the teachers in identifying suitable resources for their classes
• To issue books to students and teachers and maintain systematic records
• To conduct library classes in the school and encourage the children to read and issue books
• To conduct extra classes as per requirement, storytelling sessions
• To introduce new ideas to encourage reading interest for children

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

• Graduate / Post graduate with minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Prior experience of conducting story-telling sessions, reading programme for the students would be preferred.
• Freshers with good communication skills can apply.
• Well versed with Computer skills
• Looking for candidates residing in Mumbai only
