About SURAAH
SURAAH is an alternative school in the hills of Uttarakhand offering high-rigor, contextual education that integrates head, heart, and hands. We are opening our second school in Vikasnagar, Dehradun in 2025 and are looking for a School Lead to build and run it.
About the Role
Leading a school at SURAAH means being the person everything runs through. You are in classrooms every day. You build a team that holds the school's values without being reminded to. You build trust with a community that is still deciding what to make of a school like this. It is unglamorous most of the time. It is also genuinely meaningful.
What You Will Do
- Identify and set up a partner school: build the relationship, lead the MOU conversations, and close the agreement.
- Execute SURAAH's academic program on the ground: coach teachers, run training sessions, and ensure planning is in place and functional.
- Hire, onboard, and lead a small team of teachers.
- Run school operations tightly and build a culture where children and families belong.
Who This Is For
- 6 or more years in education, with 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Has built field relationships and seen them through to a concrete outcome.
- Has led a team with real accountability.
- Operationally strong, comfortable with ambiguity, and ready to build structure in a school still taking shape.
- Fluent in Hindi and English.
- Ready to live and work in Uttarakhand as a deliberate choice.
- Understanding of NCF and NCERT. Deep knowledge of early childhood education is a strong advantage.
Compensation
₹7,80,000 to ₹8,40,000 CTC.
