Salary: $19.80-$21.38 per hour based on experience and education, per the Year-Round Accounting/Executive Secretary Salary Schedule. This position also received a $4,000 stipend for Medicaid management.

Purpose of the Job:
Operates under general guidelines and direction of the Director of Special Services. Supports and ensures the efficient operation of the Special Services Office and the Director. Primary person responsible for Special Services Staff and Student data collection, Medicaid Reporting and various other District, State and Federal reports.

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience: Similar secretarial/personnel-related experience
Licenses/Certificates: Valid Colorado Driver's License

Essential Duties of the Job: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Handle all Special Services Department correspondence including: opening, organizing Director’s mail, typing, copying, processing outgoing letters and reports and composing routine letters for the Director.
- Screen Director’s phone calls, make appointments, and keep the Director’s calendar.
- Maintain, record, and update hard copy and electronic files of students receiving Special Education Services including correspondence, IEPs, Medicaid information, and other information as it is received/needed.
- Use good judgment in applying general guidelines.
- Exercise initiative in developing appropriate procedures to accomplish tasks.
- Responsible for maintenance of and complete confidentiality in dealing with individual student files and communications in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Able to operate independently in a variety of innovative computer programs.
- Take responsibility for establishing a positive, professional image for the Special Services Department in all interactions with staff, students, parents, community and local, state, and federal agencies and officials.
- Develop and promote good community relations among various community and school clientele.
- Present a professional appearance personally and in the work area.
- Model the District’s Mission and Belief Statements.
- Possess skills to be able to utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively.
- Complete other duties as directed by the Director of Special Services.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work in a school setting. Travel from site to site may occasionally; be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges is generally quiet with occasional increase when working events or with equipment. Must be able to work in person.
Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to analyze and compute. Frequently required to compare, communicate, coordinate, instruct, evaluate, use interpersonal skills and compile. Occasionally required to copy, synthesize and negotiate.
