Role Description This is a full-time, on-site School Counselor role based in the Dhanbad-Ranchi area. The School Counselor will provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing academic, personal, social, and emotional needs. The role involves guiding students through career exploration, academic planning, and decision-making for higher education and competitive examinations. The counselor will collaborate with teachers, school leadership, and families to support student well-being and performance, and will help organize workshops, awareness sessions, and skill-building programs. The position also requires maintaining accurate records, using data to track progress, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Student Counseling and Counseling to support learners’ academic, personal, and social development.
- Expertise in Career Counseling to guide students on higher education options, competitive exams, and future career pathways.
- Knowledge of Psychology and Mental Health to identify concerns early, provide appropriate support, and refer to specialists when needed.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education, or a related field.
- Prior experience working with school-age learners in an educational or counseling setting.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and rapport-building skills with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professional boundaries.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort using basic digital tools for record-keeping and reporting.
