About the role

We are looking for a Power Electronics Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in high‑density power conversion systems, including UPS subsystems, power shelves, and OCP/ORV‑based architectures. The role focuses on developing scalable, high‑efficiency power platforms for data centers and hyperscale infrastructure, leveraging advanced converter topologies, wide‑bandgap devices, and digital/analog control techniques. The position is based within a global MNC R&D environment, offering exposure to industry‑leading power technologies and internationally coordinated development programs. Key Responsibilities UPS & System‑Level Contributions Design and validate UPS subsystems such as rectifier modules, inverter stages, DC buses, and energy storage interfaces. Support integration of power shelves within larger UPS or distributed power systems. Contribute to system‑level efficiency, reliability, and availability targets. Power Shelf, OCP & ORV Architecture Design and develop power shelf and modular power conversion units aligned with OCP (Open Compute Project) and ORV (Open Rack Version) specifications. Contribute to 48V/400V/800V‑based power architectures, including AC‑DC rectifiers, DC‑DC bus converters, and point‑of‑load solutions. Support scalable, redundant, hot‑swappable designs for hyperscale and data center deployments. Ensure interoperability with OCP‑compliant racks, shelves, and system interfaces. Power Converter Design & Technology Design and develop DC‑DC converters, including: LLC and other resonant converter topologies Phase‑shifted full bridge and high‑frequency isolated converters Perform topology trade‑offs, loss modeling, derating, and thermal analysis. Design and validate high‑frequency magnetics optimized for power density and efficiency. Semiconductor & Control Engineering Apply wide‑bandgap devices (GaN, SiC) to achieve high efficiency and compact designs. Design and tune analog and/or digital control loops, including: Voltage/current mode control Resonant converter control strategies DSP or microcontroller‑based control implementations Validation, Compliance & Lifecycle Perform simulation and modeling using tools such as PLECS, PSIM, LTspice, or MATLAB/Simulink. Lead prototype bring‑up, debugging, and design verification testing (DVT). Support EMI/EMC, safety, and regulatory compliance (IEC, UL, OCP requirements). Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, NPI gating, and engineering documentation. Provide manufacturing and field support, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related discipline. 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in power electronics product development. Strong fundamentals in: Power conversion (AC‑DC, DC‑DC, resonant, inverter stages) Power devices (MOSFETs, IGBTs, GaN/SiC preferred) Control systems, magnetics, and thermal management Hands‑on experience with power electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads). Behavioral Competencies Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Ownership mindset with attention to quality and reliability Effective communication within global, cross‑functional teams Ability to innovate while adhering to standards and processes Let us learn about you!
