Job Title Integration architect – IB Job Description As part of the End-to-End Digital Customer Relationships organization, the Integration Architect plays a key role in defining, governing, and evolving the integration architecture across multiple platforms and applications. This senior role ensures that API designs, integration patterns, data flows, and middleware components meet Schneider Electric’s business, security, and performance expectations. The Integration Architect works closely with product teams, delivery teams, enterprise architects, and technical leads to deliver scalable, secure, and standardized integration solutions. This includes strong involvement in API architecture, governance frameworks, integration best practices, and platform evolution (e.g., Apigee, ESB, microservices). The Integration Architect reports to the Engineering lead and contributes to the strategic evolution of our integration ecosystem to support long-term digital transformation. Key Responsibilities Integration Architecture & Technical Leadership · Define and maintain the integration architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise guidelines and digital platform needs. · Lead the design of APIs, event-driven integrations, and microservices using best practices and standardized patterns. · Govern, design, and validate integration solutions built on Apigee, APIs Gateway, ESB platforms, and cloud-native components. · Ensure integration architectures meet security requirements, performance SLAs, scalability needs, and operational excellence. · Review and approve high-level and low-level designs from delivery teams. · Drive API lifecycle governance, versioning strategies, and catalog standardization. · Identify integration risks, technical debt, and long-term improvement opportunities. Cross-Functional Collaboration · Collaborate with Delivery Leads to ensure integration decisions support business priorities and delivery commitments. · Partner with Product Owners to ensure requirements are feasible, technically sound, and aligned with the platform roadmap. · Work with Enterprise Architects to guarantee architectural consistency and compliance with corporate integration frameworks. · Support squads during refinement, estimation, sprint planning, and PI Planning with integration guidance and solution design input. Platform Evolution & Best Practices · Define and promote integration standards, patterns, and guidelines across all teams. · Ensure best practices are adopted in API design (REST, GraphQL, event-driven), error handling, monitoring, tracing, and security. · Support continuous improvement of the integration landscape, including evaluating new technologies and contributing to platform modernization. · Drive adoption of CI/CD, automated testing, and observability for integration flows. Skills Required · Proven experience as an Integration Architect or Senior Integration Engineer in complex, multi-platform environments. · Strong expertise in API architecture, RESTful API design, API security, and integration best practices. · Hands-on experience with Apigee (API Gateway, policies, API analytics, developer portal). · Solid understanding of modern integration patterns (synchronous/asynchronous, event-driven, pub/sub, microservices). · Experience with cloud-native architectures (GCP preferred) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker). · Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS). · Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. · Demonstrated ability to drive complex technical discussions and make architectural decisions. Nice to have · Knowledge of Mulesoft, Boomi, or other iPaaS platforms. · Experience with event streaming technologies (Kafka, Pub/Sub). · Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices. · Understanding of domain-driven design (DDD) and API product mindset.
