• Ensure compliance with all regulations including DOT requirements will be executed safely and legally according to Federal, State, and Company regulations.
• Conceive, plan and deploy the Fleet electrification roadmap for Schindler in US, in alignment with the goals published in our Corporate Responsibility report.
• Overall strategic management of the fleet with a focus on metrics and benchmarking that contemplate vehicle acquisition, replacement planning, funding alternatives, and sourcing alliances with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Determine appropriate life cycle replacement costs that reduce vehicle ownership and operating costs while preserving vehicle resale value.
• Demonstrate expertise in cost containment, perform cost to benefit analysis of major and/or significant repairs to include depreciation considerations.
• Develop appropriate standard specifications for vehicle procurement.
• Partner with the Fleet Management Company (FMC) in benchmarking, use of “big data”, focus on TCO, balancing needs of business with an efficiently managed fleet.
• Responsible for development and management of programs that result in accident prevention, appropriate scorecard reporting, investigation and behavioral change / improvement, including the establishment of an efficient program to track and report MVRs (motor vehicle records) to all Schindler US Fleet users.
• Manage the allocation of the vehicles to meet the logistic demands of deliveries.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining an accurate inventory of all vehicles and equipment.
• Possess proficient general knowledge of repair and maintenance costs.
• Ensure that Registrations, inspections, and routine maintenance is being completed
• Overall responsibility for maintaining the fleet database.
• Management of rentals, GPS, fuel card, subrogation and preventative maintenance program Lead cross-functional teams in both the Strategic Sourcing Organization (SSO) and Field Supply Chain Operation organizations.
• Create a culture of partnership with the field organization (technicians, supervisors, leadership of all levels).
• Effectively explain the need for change, work alongside / collaborate with various members of the field organization, inspire commitment to the change process, handles setbacks and continuously improve the overall value.
• Provide input to category management team regarding the unique/specific regional needs during category strategy development.
• Communicate effectively to ensure full alignment with Schindler Elevator Corporation’s (SEC’s) overall strategies. Provide monthly reporting to CFO on fleet costs, activities, gaps and plans to improve.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with OEM’s and other key vendors
• Drafts and monitors appropriate controls to ensure processes and procedures are performed in a compliant manner and develop appropriate dashboards, metrics and measures to identify ongoing areas for improvement across all facets of the procurement operation.
• Manage the material handling equipment – fork trucks, combi-lifts as part of a leased asset program
• Provide senior level support to Schindler Canada fleet operations
• Able to represent North America fleet in a global setting when helping to support Group fleet objectives and activities, able to help shape Group policy and influence stakeholders as to realities of North America fleet marketplace.
• The role will also include the management of the company’s travel program.
