About the role

A Lead Retail Attendant provides support to the retail staff. They will act as on-site supervisor for their shift, representing the bridge between the Retail Attendants and management. They will run the sales floor by delegating tasks, restocking the floor, and maintaining a clean and inviting environment for guests. The Lead Retail Attendant will also provide friendly, excellent service to every guest as well as making sure Retail Attendants are doing the same. They are responsible for handling guest’s issues, complaints and resolve problems to ensure a positive guest’s experience. Additionally, they may be responsible for the opening and closing duties of the Gift Shop. They will be required to run the register and use the computer for communication, reports and email.

The Lead Attendant is responsible for checking in shipment, noting discrepancies and maintaining the integrity of inventory by ensuring this process is correct and all issues relayed to management. They must help to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the selling floor as well as the stockroom for easy access and safety. Tasks may include pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, walking, reaching and standing.  Position requires the ability to communicate effectively in English.  All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Report to work well-groomed in full uniform and on time with badge on upper left side of uniform.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service to all our guests.
  • Be hospitable, friendly, and polite with all guests, co-workers, and management using positive body language.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner always.  Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.
  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Attend all necessary training meetings.
  • Assist in other projects, as directed.
  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.  Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.
  • Unload carts and place shipment in designated areas.
  • Remove trash, empty boxes, as need on shift.
  • Sorts trash at dumpster areas into proper containers, i.e. boxes and trash
  • Position requires extensive walking, standing and some lifting.
  • Outstanding example of and a credit to Saracen Casino Resort.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent required.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of background investigation and drug screening

  • Must have the physical ability to work with extreme weather as well as the ability to lift 50lbs., to squat, stand or bend repeatedly.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
