SAP Spatial Asset Management / SAP GEF Consultant
Location:PAN INDIA
Experience Required:5–12 years (flexible as per requirement)
Role Overview:The SAP Spatial Asset Management / SAP Geographical Enablement Framework (GEF) Consultant will be responsible for implementing end‑to‑end spatial enablement solutions within the SAP ecosystem. This includes integrating GIS data, enabling map‑based visualization of assets, configuring SAP GEF framework components, and supporting SAP EAM/PM processes with spatial intelligence.
The role requires hands‑on expertise in SAP PM/EAM, SAP GEF architecture, GIS systems (ESRI/ArcGIS), and spatial data models.
Key Responsibilities1. Implementation & Configuration- Configure and implement SAP GEF components including:
- Spatial Enablement
- Layer management
- Map services and feature layers
- Spatial editor functionalities
- Implement SAP Spatial Asset Management (SAM) for:
- Linear and point asset mapping
- Network tracing
- Spatial work order planning and visualization
- Integrate SAP GEF with SAP EAM/PM for spatially enabled maintenance processes.
2. GIS Integration- Integrate SAP with external GIS platforms (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, Hexagon, etc.)
- Configure GIS connectors, map services (WMS), and spatial data synchronization.
- Manage GIS datasets like:
- Shapefiles
- Feature layers
- Geodatabases
3. Business Process Alignment- Work with business users to map GIS-enabled asset management processes.
- Enable spatial visualization for:
- Equipment and functional locations
- Work orders
- Notifications
- Utility networks
4. Data Management & Modeling- Define spatial data models compatible with SAP GEF.
- Manage geocoordinates, linear referencing, and topology.
- Perform spatial data quality checks and corrections.
5. Project & Stakeholder Management- Gather requirements and prepare functional/technical specifications.
- Work with cross-functional teams (PM, EAM, GIS, Basis, Security).
- Provide user training on map-based functionalities.
- Support UAT, cutover, and Go-Live activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications✅
Technical Skills- Strong knowledge of SAP GEF framework.
- Experience in SAP SAM (Spatial Asset Management).
- Hands-on experience in SAP PM/EAM.
- Proficiency in integrating SAP with GIS systems (ESRI ArcGIS preferred).
- Understanding of:
- SAP S/4HANA (advantageous)
- OData services & Fiori apps
- Spatial data formats (WMS/WFS/ESRI services)
- Linear asset management

- Ability to lead workshops and explain spatial concepts to business users.
Preferred Qualifications- SAP certification in PM, EAM, or GIS-related modules.
- Experience in Utilities, Oil & Gas, Rail, Public Sector, or Infrastructure domains.
