About the Role
We are looking for an experienced SAP SD Variant Configuration (VC) Lead / Project Manager to lead the design, implementation, and delivery of SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) Variant Configuration solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong functional expertise in SAP SD and Variant Configuration, combined with proven project management experience to successfully deliver complex SAP transformation initiatives.
The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, solution architects, and cross-functional SAP teams to implement scalable configure-to-order (CTO), engineer-to-order (ETO), and make-to-order (MTO) solutions while ensuring successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end implementation and rollout of SAP SD Variant Configuration (VC) solutions.
Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into SAP Variant Configuration designs.
Configure and maintain Characteristics, Classes, Dependencies, Configuration Profiles, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Routings, and Object Dependencies.
Design and implement configurable products supporting Configure-to-Order (CTO), Make-to-Order (MTO), and Engineer-to-Order (ETO) business processes.
Manage SAP implementation projects including planning, scheduling, resource management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
Collaborate with business users, functional consultants, technical teams, and third-party vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
Integrate SAP SD Variant Configuration with SAP MM, PP, VC, LO-VC, PP/DS, APO, and S/4HANA modules where applicable.
Lead workshops, fit-gap analysis, solution design sessions, and business process improvements.
Coordinate data migration, testing (Unit Testing, SIT, UAT), cutover planning, and go-live support.
Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and budget objectives.
Prepare functional specifications, technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
Provide post-go-live support, issue resolution, and continuous process improvement recommendations.
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to SAP best practices within the organization.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8–15 years of SAP consulting experience with strong expertise in SAP SD.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Variant Configuration (LO-VC).
Proven experience leading full-cycle SAP implementation or transformation projects.

Experience working on SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA implementations.
Strong understanding of Configure-to-Order (CTO), Engineer-to-Order (ETO), and Make-to-Order (MTO) business processes.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience managing global or multi-country SAP implementations is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Sales and Distribution.
SAP S/4HANA Sales Certification is an advantage.
PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum certification preferred.
Experience with Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) in SAP S/4HANA.
Knowledge of SAP Fiori, BRF+, and SAP Solution Manager.
Exposure to SAP CPQ, SAP Commerce Cloud, or SAP PLM is an added advantage.
