Company Description : Buying Simplified India is the 100% owned subsidiary of US based specialist consulting and BPO company Buying Simplified USA. It enables organizations to focus on core business activities while it manages projects and tactical tasks with minimal supervision.
Role Description : We are looking for an experienced SAP Consultant to support a confidential client engagement, based out of anywhere in India (preferred location - Chennai). We serve US and Europe based companies, hence the work hours are aligned to late afternoon and late evening in India. The consultant will be responsible for the functional configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of SAP FICO / Fiori modules, ensuring the platform is well-configured,
documented, and supported for end users across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide functional configuration and support across SAP FICO modules (FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR, CO-CCA).
- Configure, test, and support SAP Fiori apps, tiles, and workflows; troubleshoot user access and transaction errors.
- Analyze and resolve SAP system issues (tickets/incidents) raised by end users, ensuring timely root-cause resolution.
- Work on SAP-related process documentation, including updating and correcting legacy system references to reflect current SAP Fiori/FICO processes (e.g., VAT filing procedures).
- Collaborate with IT/SAP Basis and functional teams on system changes, patches, upgrades, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for SAP enhancements.
- Support configuration and testing of new SAP functionalities, reports, and workflows as per business requirements.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within the SAP landscape.
- Ensure SAP transactions and configurations comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and client-specific SOPs.
- Prepare SAP training material, process guides, and job aids; conduct end-user training sessions on SAP Fiori/FICO functionality.
- Coordinate with the client's onshore SAP/IT teams during Chennai night shift hours to ensure real-time issue resolution and smooth handovers.
Required skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of relevant SAP FICO / Fiori experience, preferably supporting US-based clients in a shared services or GBS environment.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR, and CO-CCA modules; SAP Fiori exposure is essential.
- SAP FICO certification preferred, or actively pursuing certification.
- Hands-on experience with SAP configuration, ticket resolution, and UAT support.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; exposure to SAP reporting/automation tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with onshore US stakeholders during night shift hours.
