SAP EWM S4HANA Consultant

Role Purpose

The Functional Consultant is responsible for understanding business requirements, collaborating with stakeholders across business domains, and taking end‑to‑end ownership to deliver high‑quality solutions. The role involves providing functional expertise, ensuring smooth system operations, and supporting implementations, rollouts, and enhancements aligned with business needs.

Critical Drivers for Success

1. Experience in S/4HANA EWM Template Rollouts and implementation methodologies.
2. Execution of system change requests, release activities, and resolution of incidents, problems, and service requests as per SLA.
3. Conducting root cause analysis and impact assessments for issues and change requests.
4. Timely understanding, analysis, and resolution of issues during project deployment and support phases.
5. Preparation of test cases, test data, and execution of testing cycles for application and change releases.
6. Documentation of daily tasks, processes, and solutions to build a strong knowledge base.
7. Requirement understanding, analysis, and data gathering for functional improvements.
8. Interface monitoring and troubleshooting across systems.
9. Demonstrated experience in project implementations and global rollouts.
10. Acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and guiding team members in solution delivery.
11. Active involvement in organizational initiatives and process improvements.
12. Reviewing and validating solutions proposed by team members.
13. Contributing to the refinement of AMS service delivery and operational processes.
14. Building strong working relationships with business stakeholders.
15. Leading and delivering topics requiring coordination across multiple teams.
16. Preparing and documenting business process specifications and change requests.

Good to Have:

• SAP EWM Certification
• Relevant domain experience
• Exposure to S/4HANA Embedded EWM

Areas of Responsibility

✔ Thorough understanding of respective business domains

✔ Strong knowledge of Incident, Problem, Change & Release Management processes

✔ Understanding of application architecture, deployments, monitoring, and health checks

✔ Preparation of accurate and detailed weekly reports

✔ Continuous communication with business stakeholders regarding progress and issue updates

Role Specification / Entry Criteria

Education – Required

• BE in Automobile, Production, Engineering, or equivalent
• Post‑graduation in Engineering (any relevant specialization)

Education – Desired

• BE in Automobile, Production, Engineering, or related fields
• Additional SAP or domain‑specific certifications

Experience

• Minimum Experience: 5.5 – 11 years
• Relevant SAP EWM Experience: 5.5 – 8 years

Knowledge, Skills & Exposure

1. 7+ years of hands‑on experience in SAP S/4HANA EWM, with strong expertise in ERP–EWM integration, handling unit management, and warehouse structural design.
2. Deep understanding of process‑oriented and layout‑oriented storage control and internal warehouse logistics.
3. End‑to‑end configuration experience in inbound, outbound, wave management, and advanced return management.
4. Expertise in:

• Inventory management
• Putaway & picking strategies
• Direct putaway
• Replenishment methods
• Deconsolidation
• Slotting
• VAS
• Yard management
• Kitting
• WOCR

1. Experience with RF/mobile device configuration and advanced cycle counting.
2. Integration experience with third‑party systems via IDoc, Proxy, and API.
3. Strong ability to support, troubleshoot, and enhance EWM functionalities across environments.
