We're looking for an SAP Subscription Billing Consultant to manage support and optimize the end-to-end subscription lifecycle for recurring-revenue models. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience configuring pricing models, rate plans, and automated billing processes using SAP Subscription Billing, along with integration knowledge for SAP S/4HANA (Public) and related systems.
Here is the detailed skill set required:
1. Functional Expertise & Process Knowledge
• Subscription Lifecycle Management: Deep understanding of the entire lifecycle, including creation, pausing, resuming, amendments (up-selling/down-selling), and cancellation.
• Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) Processes: Proficiency in managing the end-to-end process, bridging front-office selling to back-office billing.
• Flexible Pricing & Rating Models: Configuration skills for one-time charges, recurring fees, usage-based pricing, tiered volume/block pricing, and overage discounts.
• Convergent Invoicing (CI): Knowledge of aggregating consumption data from multiple sources to create consolidated invoices.
• Entitlement Management: Experience managing entitlements, allowances, and free periods to reduce revenue leakage.
• Revenue Recognition: Understanding of event-based and contract-based revenue recognition in S/4HANA Public Cloud.
• Ensure compliance: With finance, taxation, and audit requirements for subscription billing.
2. SAP Technical & Product Knowledge
• SAP Subscription Billing (BTP): Hands-on experience configuring products, rate plans, and allowance templates on SAP BTP.
• SAP S/4HANA Cloud Integration: Strong knowledge of integrating BTP-based subscription billing with S/4HANA Cloud (Public Edition) for financials, sales, and service logistics.
• API Management: Ability to use APIs to integrate with upstream systems like commerce layers (e.g., SAP Commerce Cloud).
• SAP Convergent Charging (CC): Understanding real-time charging and rating logic.
• No-Code Configuration: Experience configuring business rules, pricing logic, and workflows without custom code.
3. Consulting & Project Skills
• Business Requirement Analysis: Translating complex business needs into functional specifications and technical configurations.
• Process Modelling: Mapping current business practices to the subscription billing product capabilities.
• Data Migration & Testing: Creating test cases (positive/negative testing) and handling data migration for subscription billing.
• Documentation: Meticulous documentation of configuration changes, change requests, and end-user manuals.
• Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders and manage customer expectations.
• Agile Methodology: Experience with SAP Activate methodology for implementation.
Key Certifications:
• SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP Subscription Billing (Preferred).
Preferred Background
• Prior experience in SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) or SAP FI-CA (Contract Accounting) is highly desirable, as these form the foundation for billing and financial integration. “
