Job Role - SAP BASIS MANAGER
Location: Bangalore | Hyderabad
Experience: 7 – 16 Years
Qualification: Any Graduate | Any Post Graduate | Any Diploma
We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Manager to lead end-to-end SAP Basis service delivery across a complex SAP landscape. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, team leadership, client engagement, and operational ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
● Own operational stability of SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and surrounding applications across Production & Non-Production.
● Lead high-severity incidents, complex problem management, RCA, and technical escalations.
● Manage end-to-end SAP Basis AMS activities including:
• System monitoring & administration
• Transport management
• Client copies / system refreshes
• Kernel & Support Pack upgrades
• Patching & SAP Note implementation
• Printer & interface management
• User administration & job scheduling.
● Plan and execute system refreshes, migrations, upgrades, and DR drills.
● Ensure Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes are followed within SLA.
Team Leadership
● Lead, mentor, and develop the SAP Basis team.
● Own work allocation, shift coverage, workload balancing, and shift handovers.
● Provide lead-level operational coverage during and beyond the second shift when required.
● Build technical depth within the team and reduce key-person dependency.
● Drive ownership of SOPs, runbooks, and Known Issue Registers.
Client Engagement & Governance
● Act as the primary SAP Basis point of contact for client stakeholders.
● Manage technical escalations and client expectations.
● Conduct weekly/monthly service reviews with data-driven reporting.
● Identify and implement automation, optimization, and continuous-improvement opportunities.
● Align delivery with engagement governance and the Overall SAP Basis Lead.
Mandatory Technical Skills
● SAP Basis Administration – S/4HANA & ECC
● SAP LaMa – Landscape Management & Automation
● SAP Focused Run (FRUN) – Monitoring, Alerting & System Management
● SAP PO/PI – Administration & Troubleshooting
● Documentum / PCL / OpenText – Basis Support
● SAP BTP / Hyperscaler-hosted SAP Workloads
● Linux / Unix / Windows – Strong OS-level knowledge
● HANA / Oracle / SQL Server – DBA, Performance & Backup/Recovery
