🚀 SAP Basis Fresher Opening – iPlanet Cloud Solution Pvt. Ltd.
We are looking for SAP Basis Fresher candidates (0–6 months experience).
Job Location - Pune
Work Type - Onsite
Paid Training: 6‑month hands‑on advanced training on live projects.
Note: If you already have knowledge and at least 6 months of experience in the required skills, then the paid training is not required.
Key skills required:
✔ Basic knowledge of Windows & Linux OS
✔ Basic knowledge of Hardware (Server, Storage, etc)
✔ Basic knowledge of networking & virtualization
✔ Basic awareness of databases – MS SQL, Oracle, SAP HANA, Sybase, MaxDB, DB2
✔ Basic understanding of SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Public Cloud
✔ Basic understanding of SAP Implementation, SAP Upgrade, SAP Migration, & SAP Conversion.
Responsibilities include:
§ Monitor and report infrastructure health, capacity, and incidents; escalate per SLAs.
§ Maintain accurate documentation: system configurations, runbooks, asset inventories, and change logs.
§ Follow ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management and participate in on-call rotation when required.
Windows & Linux responsibilities
§ Perform routine OS tasks: installation, patching, user and group management, service management, and scheduled jobs.
§ Troubleshoot basic OS issues (boot, drivers, service failures, permission errors) and coordinate escalation to L2/L3 when needed.
§ Implement and verify backups for OS-level files and system state; test restores periodically.
Hardware (server, storage) responsibilities
§ Deploy and commission physical servers and storage: rack/cable, firmware/BIOS/iLO/iDRAC updates, RAID configuration, and basic hardware diagnostics.
§ Monitor hardware health (temperature, power, SMART, RAID) and open/coordinate vendor hardware support/parts replacement for failures.
§ Assist with capacity planning and inventory management for servers and storage arrays.
Networking & virtualization responsibilities
§ Configure and verify basic networking settings: IP addressing, VLAN tagging, routing checks, and connectivity troubleshooting (ping, traceroute).
§ Administer virtualization hosts and VMs: create VMs, assign CPU/RAM/storage, snapshot management, and perform basic hypervisor housekeeping.
§ Support virtual networking components (vSwitches, port groups) and coordinate changes with network team for complex tasks.
Database awareness responsibilities
(MS SQL, Oracle, SAP HANA, Sybase, MaxDB, DB2)
§ Maintain basic operational awareness: confirm database service availability, monitor key metrics (uptime, connections, disk usage), and escalate DB incidents.
§ Coordinate backups, restores and simple database-level health checks with DBAs; assist with log collection and standard DB troubleshooting steps.
§ Support database provisioning requests by applying OS-level prerequisites and storage allocations, following DBA guidelines.
SAP ERP / S/4HANA / SAP Public Cloud responsibilities
§ Support SAP basis activities at a basic level: start/stop SAP services, verify system availability, and collect system logs for SAP Basis or DBA teams.
§ Assist with transport requests, system copies (coordinate with DBAs), and apply OS/storage prerequisites for SAP installation, upgrade, migration, or conversion activities.
§ Participate in cutover/maintenance windows, performing pre-checks and post-task verifications as directed by SAP Basis leads.
SAP Implementation / Upgrade / Migration / Conversion responsibilities
§ Provide OS, hardware and virtualization support during implementation, upgrade, migration, or conversion projects (environment build, snapshots, rollback support).
§ Execute assigned pre-check and post-check tasks (patch levels, kernel versions, filesystem space, backup completion) and document results.
§ Support data movement at the infrastructure layer (storage LUN provisioning, mount, transport of DB backups), coordinating closely with DBAs and SAP Basis engineers.
Operational support & security responsibilities
§ Implement baseline security configurations (patch application, secure SSH/RDP settings, firewall basics) and apply vendor-recommended hardening where applicable.
§ Run and validate routine backups, test restores, and maintain backup documentation; escalate failures to backup specialists.
§ Assist in vulnerability patch cycles and ensure scheduled maintenance windows are executed with minimal service disruption.
Collaboration & process responsibilities
§ Work closely with L2/L3 teams (DBA, SAP Basis, Networking, Storage) and vendors; escalate issues with clear diagnostics and logs.
§ Contribute to post-incident reviews and continuous improvement by suggesting procedural or automation improvements.
§ Train and support junior staff on basic operational tasks and runbooks.
