SAP Backend Developer (S/4HANA ABAP OO with RAP)

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP Backend Developer with strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in ABAP Object-Oriented Programming, RAP, CDS Views, OData Services, and modern S/4HANA backend development. The role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise-grade SAP applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Must-Have Skills
- 6–8 years of SAP ABAP development experience
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- SAP S/4HANA ABAP Development
- ABAP Object-Oriented Programming (ABAP OO)
- CDS Views (Core Data Services)
- OData Services
- BOPF (Business Object Processing Framework)
- RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)
- Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and development concepts
- Experience with data modeling and backend application design
- Functional knowledge of SAP Procurement processes
- Experience in SAP Workflow development and enhancements
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills
- Knowledge of roles, authorizations, and service enablement in S/4HANA
- Ability to develop, test, and deploy scalable SAP solutions
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
- SAP Fiori concepts and architecture
- SAPUI5 development knowledge
- Experience with SAP Cloud-based development projects
- Exposure to SAP integrations and standard connectivity frameworks
- Knowledge of clean code practices, code reviews, and quality assurance processes
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance SAP S/4HANA backend applications for cloud and on-premise environments.
- Build and maintain solutions using ABAP OO, RAP, CDS Views, OData Services, and BOPF.
- Develop technical solutions aligned with business and functional requirements.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Create and maintain technical design documents and development specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, functional consultants, and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery.
- Ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks with adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Support issue resolution, system enhancements, and production deployments.
- Drive development work independently while coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.
