Job Title: SAP ABAP HANA Consultant
Location: Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai
Experience: 5-12 Years
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled SAP ABAP on HANA Consultant to design, develop, and optimize ABAP applications on the SAP HANA platform. The role involves working closely with functional teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and business-critical SAP solutions using HANA-optimized programming techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ABAP programs on SAP HANA
- Optimize existing ABAP programs by applying HANA code push-down techniques
- Develop and consume CDS Views, AMDP, and Open SQL (HANA-compatible)
- Work on Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (RICEF)
- Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Implement performance tuning and debugging for HANA-based applications
- Develop OData services and work with REST/SAP Gateway
- Support SAP S/4HANA implementations, rollouts, and upgrades
- Follow SAP best practices, coding standards, and documentation processes
- Provide production support and resolve incidents in a timely manner
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP
- Good exposure to SAP HANA concepts and performance optimization
- Expertise in:
- ABAP OO
- CDS Views
- AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures)
- HANA-optimized Open SQL
- Experience with S/4HANA data model and simplification concepts
- Working knowledge of:
- SmartForms / Adobe Forms / SAP Scripts
- Enhancements (User Exits, BADI, Enhancement Framework)
- IDocs, RFC, BAPI
- Exposure to OData services and SAP Gateway
- Debugging skills in ABAP and HANA environment
Functional & Soft Skills
- Good understanding of SAP functional processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Migration or Greenfield Implementations
- Knowledge of Fiori/UI5 backend integration
- Exposure to SAP Workflow
- SAP Certification in ABAP or S/4HANA (added advantage)
