Description


SUMMARY:


The Med Tech Manager is responsible for the administrative supervision of Med Techs and RSAs in a detox and residential addiction treatment setting. This role ensures that the Med Techs and RSAs provide safe and effective patient care and adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. The Med Tech Manager also provides direct client care under the medical supervision of Registered Nurses and medical providers, supports the multidisciplinary treatment team, and collaborates closely with the Program Directors to ensure a cohesive and well-functioning medical team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide administrative supervision, support, and guidance to Med Techs, ensuring compliance with facility protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and coaching to Med Techs.
  • Oversee daily scheduling, coverage, and workload distribution for Med Techs to ensure adequate staffing at all facilities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and training programs for Med Techs and RSA’s
  • Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, patient assessments, and monitoring withdrawal symptoms.
  • Monitor compliance and policy and procedure adherence.
  • Document patient care activities and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant medical records.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans for patients.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions and reporting.
  • Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Act as a liaison between the Med Techs, RSAs, and Program Directors, the nursing and clinical teams to facilitate effective communication and care coordination.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the planning and improvement of patient care services.
  • Ordering of medical supplies, OTC medications, Narcan etc.
  • Assist with the resolution of grievances and incidents involving Med Techs and RSAs in collaboration with the Program Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or Director of Nursing.

  • Supervision of staff, including performance management and scheduling
  • Computer experience, knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn Access, Word, and electronic medical records.
  • Ability to solve unexpected problems as they arise while considering liability, precedence, programmatic implications, and other possible future impacts on the program, services, or organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and direct medical care within the residential program assigned.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Current and valid Medical Assistant or LPN license in New Mexico preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Prior experience in addiction treatment, behavioral health, or a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance with licensing and certification standards.
  • Must have and maintain a current, valid NM Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and auto insurance.
  • Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural preferred (English/Spanish).

$54,760 - $87,616
