General Function:

Facilitate student learning using the Edgenuity platform, including progress monitoring, student conferencing, re-teaching as needed, monitoring online activity and course progress, and motivating students.

Education/Training/Experience

(Basic minimum requirements are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the District.)

Minimum: New Mexico Public Education Department Teacher license.

Preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities: 

Candidate should be knowledgeable in best practices, Common Core State Standards, and NM state priority standards. Candidates must be able to work with others and follow the core curriculum and mandated grant requirements. Candidates should be able to produce documents related to NMPED/SFPS reporting requirements and promote the summer program to families. Basic computer skills (MS Office/web-based applications).

Essential Job Functions

All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, and facility and computer security policies and procedures.  Functions are subject to change occasionally to meet the organization's needs. Current essential functions include the following:

 1.      Adhere to school and district policies.

2.      Supervise students.

3.      Establish and maintain a safe, welcoming classroom environment that focuses on student growth, progress, and content mastery.

4.      Maintain open communication with students, families, and school staff.

5.      Maintain accurate and current records.

6.      Additional duties as assigned

Salary Range:

$40.00 per hour

Resources Used in Performing the Job Include (but are not limited to): 

Standard office equipment and software platforms such as Microsoft Office and the Google Suite. Standard classroom supplies and equipment.

 Physical/Cognitive Requirements: 

You are regularly required to stand and move throughout a room and/or facility. You communicate verbally and electronically. You use your hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with your hands and arms. You are frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. You are occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, and drive. You may have occasion to perform heavy lifting of up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Conditions: 

Work is performed in a school setting, with exposure to a Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required. Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people.

  2. Properly notifies supervisor and/or designee of absences or tardiness.
  3. Begins and completes work within the allotted time.
  4. Consistently appears in attire appropriate to the work environment.
  5. Demonstrates skill in using equipment, including its capabilities, limitations, and appropriate/special applications
  6. Protects the district’s resources by appropriately and carefully using supplies and equipment.
  7. Utilizes appropriate body mechanics to prevent muscle strain/injury.
