ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Comply with all Federal, provincial, municipal, airport authority and carrier security requirements.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on various GSE, including baggage tugs, belt loaders, pushback tractors, ground power units, air conditioning units.
- Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on GSE
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Execute repairs and replacements of GSE components as needed
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts usage and equipment status
- Respond promptly to emergency repair calls and equipment breakdowns
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, FAA regulations, and airport policies
- Assist in Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient GSE operations
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with new technologies and repair techniques
- Must be able to operate and drive all types of various GSE equipment motorized and non-motorized.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
- Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Able to research and other parts needed from certain vendors.
- Able to use fleet maintenance program
- Willing to work outside in all weather conditions year-round.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
- Hand tools: Such as Wrenches (various sizes and types), screwdrivers, pliers, socket sets, hammers, pry bars and Allen keys.
- Power tools: such as impact wrenches, drills, grinders, and pneumatic tools
- Diagnostic equipment: such as multimeters, OBD-II scanners, pressure gauges, leak detectors
- Lifting and support equipment: Hydraulic pressure testers, batter load testers, fuel injection testers, tire changing equipment.
- Safety equipment: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Fire Extinguishers, spill containment kits
- Cleaning Equipment: Parts washers, pressure washers
- Welding and cutting equipment: Welding machines and cutting torches a plus but not preferred.
- Lubrication equipment: Grease guns, oil dispensers
- Computer systems: Laptops or tablets for accessing repair manuals and recording maintenance data
- Specialty tools for specific GSE: Belt Tension Gauges, torque wrenches, electrical system testers
- ASE Certifications
- Experience with electrical and alternative fuel GSE
- Knowledge of Florida’s Climate-related challenges for equipment maintenance
- Basic Computer skills for record keeping and parts ordering.
