Manager (Sand Blasting & Fixture Maintenance)
📍 Location: Sriperumbudur
🏭 Department: Tooling / Fixture Maintenance / Manufacturing Engineering
🎓 Qualification & Experience
- BE / BTech – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering
- 10–15 years of experience in fixture/tooling maintenance or manufacturing engineering
- Experience in EMS / precision manufacturing / aerospace preferred
🔍 Position Summary
The Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of fixture maintenance, sand blasting process control, and lifecycle management of titanium fixtures used in EMS small parts manufacturing. The role ensures high fixture uptime, adherence to quality standards, and continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
🧾 Key Responsibilities
🔧 Fixture Maintenance Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for fixtures
- Define lifecycle management (repair, refurbishment, replacement)
- Ensure uninterrupted fixture availability for production
🌪️ Sand Blasting Process Control
- Standardize blasting parameters (media type, pressure, duration, frequency)
- Ensure required surface finish without impacting fixture dimensions
- Maintain blasting equipment calibration and maintenance
🎯 Quality & Defect Reduction
- Drive reduction of fixture-related defects:
- Scratch marks
- Mis-holding defects
- Contamination / particle defects
- Fitment issues
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with customer quality standards
📊 Traceability & Documentation
- Implement fixture tracking system:
- Fixture ID tracking
- Usage cycles
- Blasting history
- Repair & replacement records
- Maintain audit-ready documentation
👥 Team Management
- Lead engineers, technicians, and operators
- Conduct training on SOPs, handling, and maintenance practices
- Plan manpower based on production requirements
💰 Cost & Vendor Management
- Control costs of blasting media, spares, and fixture repairs
- Manage vendors for refurbishment and new fixture development
- Ensure supplier quality and on-time delivery
🚀 Continuous Improvement
- Improve fixture life and reduce maintenance frequency
- Standardize storage, cleaning, and handling processes
- Implement poka-yoke systems to prevent errors
⚠️ Safety & Compliance
- Ensure EHS compliance in blasting area (PPE, dust extraction, waste disposal)
- Follow all safety policies and customer requirements
