Community Schools - Site Program Coordinator

The San Diego Unified School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Community Schools - Site Program Coordinator.  This promotional / open opportunity is open to all interested candidates.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the guidance and oversight of the District Community Schools Coordinator, independently perform and accomplish highly technical administrative and staff duties related to the coordination and participation in collaborative leadership with their assigned community school, administrators, and school teams in the establishment and development of the Community Schools program pillars and structures; lead the work of identified staff.

CURRENT VACANCY / POSITION SPECIFICS: 

• Working Location: Chesterton Elementary - 7335 Wheatley Street, San Diego, CA 92111 (Area C)

• Work Schedule: 12 months / 40 hours
• Salary: This position is paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule.  Grade 054.  To view the Salary Schedule, click here.
• Positions greater than 20 hours per week qualify for District-paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
• Vacancies that require the incumbent to be Bilingual in English/Spanish will be noted. Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to: An Associate's degree from an accredited institution in communications, social services, education, school counseling or a related field and five (5) years of recent, progressively responsible, related experience working with students and families in the TK-12 educational system or with organizations that serve school communities.

 

Experience in the establishment of community partnerships to support the development of comprehensive school systems and structures is highly preferred.

Examination Process

The examination process includes an application screening and evaluation based on the applicant's education, work history, and responses to the application questions. Only applicants whose application packet demonstrates a combined education and experience which meets the minimum requirements for the position will be considered qualified and advance in the process. Some positions require applicants to pass additional components which may include one or more of the following: a multiple-choice, oral, written, or performance exam specific to the position. NOTE: Most exams are conducted remotely utilizing an online testing platform.
