About the role
- Retrieves high volume of incoming calls, screens callers, takes messages and / or direct to appropriate personnel or department.
- Ensure professionalism while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Provides routine information.
- Maintains privacy of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA.
- Welcomes on-site patient(s) and / or visitor(s), determines the nature of their business, ensuring all policies are followed.
- Assist in the resolution of complaints.
- Independently manages requests, and inquiries from all patients, or visitors by responding rapidly and appropriately to complaints, and initiates de-escalation, remedies, and resolutions, or elevates to the appropriate person.
- Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, faxing, and photocopying.
- Maintains work area, and lobby in neat, and orderly manner.
- Attends required meetings, and participates in committees as requested.
- Maintains established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
- Maintains proper hospital opening, and closing procedures.
- Implements job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the Code of Ethics.
- All other duties as assigned
