Summer Intern, eComm Software Dev Engineer

Samsung Electronics America is a leader in mobile technologies and consumer electronics. The role involves working with the eCommerce platform engineering team to improve observability and reduce system issue detection times, ensuring seamless user interactions through modern monitoring tools. Responsibilities Optimize instrumentation for capturing user interactions, API responses, slow page loads and component rendering problems that will affect customer experience. Assist in reducing Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) KPIs by automating issue detection and alerts using tools like New Relic, Akamai mPulse, Opentelemetry, Grafana, Opensearch tools. Collaborate with Frontend engineers, Architects and Product managers to define and implement best practices for frontend observability. Develop systems / components to improve operation simplicity and system reliability. For example, deployment automation and diagnosis tools Troubleshoot and fix reliability bugs in our offboard software and/or report them to our software engineering teams Guide systems architecture by participating in design reviews and offering suggestions for reliability and optimization of production systems.
