About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Software Engineer to join our Connected Asset Maintenance team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a brand-new product at Samsara, where you will play a key role in shaping its foundational architecture. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building a cutting-edge platform that leverages digitization, intuitive user interfaces, and centralized data to modernize physical workflows and drive operational efficiency. This remote position is open to candidates residing within the United States and offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment focused on innovation and customer impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience developing customer-facing applications
• Strong programming fundamentals in languages such as Java, Python, Golang, or TypeScript
• Experience designing and architecting large-scale, high-availability systems
• Ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver project milestones effectively within a team
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred but not mandatory)
• Familiarity with multi-tier architectures, including React frontends and microservices
• Proven track record of delivering significant value to customers through software solutions
• Curiosity about customer needs and a passion for improving user experiences
• Enthusiasm for shipping features that are immediately utilized by end-users
• Desire to iterate on products based on customer feedback and data insights
  
  

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, firmware, and infrastructure engineers to architect, develop, test, and deploy full-stack features across front-end, back-end, and mobile platforms
• Utilize technologies such as GoLang, GraphQL, Typescript, React, and ReactNative to build scalable and efficient solutions
• Maintain and support production systems owned by the team, ensuring high availability and performance
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold quality standards
• Contribute to building a positive team culture and foster an enjoyable work environment
• Identify and resolve technical problems that enable our products to serve a global customer base effectively
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, and evangelize the platform’s capabilities
