Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Salesperson role based in Varanasi. The Salesperson will build and maintain relationships with local retailers, restaurants, and individual customers, promoting the benefits of farm-fresh mushrooms. Daily tasks include identifying new sales opportunities, visiting and following up with clients, presenting product information, negotiating pricing within company guidelines, and closing sales. The role also involves tracking orders, coordinating with the production and delivery teams, managing basic sales documentation, and gathering customer feedback to support continuous improvement. The Salesperson will be expected to meet sales targets while representing HNT Agrofarm in a professional and customer-focused manner.
Qualifications
- Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships, including strong interpersonal and client service skills.
- Experience in direct sales, field sales, or retail/foodservice sales, preferably in fresh produce or FMCG.
- Basic knowledge of sales processes such as lead generation, product presentation, negotiation, and closing deals.
- Strong communication skills in relevant local languages and clear spoken and written English.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple accounts.
- Comfort with basic record-keeping and use of mobile apps or simple digital tools to track visits and orders.
- Reliable transportation for local travel in and around Varanasi.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, marketing, or agriculture is an advantage.
- Previous experience in the Varanasi market or knowledge of local hospitality and retail networks is a plus.
