Job Summary – Salesforce Practice Manager
Responsibilities
A Salesforce Project Manager is primarily responsible for the entire engagement of the area he/she works on. A Salesforce Project Manager is responsible for on-time deliveries, resource management and Salesforce practice-wide initiatives. Salesforce Project Manager should be the all-time point of contact for both; offshore team (i.e. Devs, QAs, TLs, TA’s and DM’s) and respective onshore stakeholders. A Salesforce Project Manager is expected to possess expert level knowledge of Salesforce CRM platforms, domain functions and technology. A Salesforce Project Manager duties can be categorized as:
- Delivery Management (50 percentage of time)
- Stay ahead in-terms of the Salesforce.com platform and related skills to lead the team from front.
- Be the thought leader and add niche dimensions to the solutions in-terms of usability, scalability, quality and maintainability.
- Setting priorities for the team
- Streamlining work from multiple channels
- Critical decision making
- Setting the right expectations with all the respective stakeholders
- Proactive and diligent communication in all appropriate channels
- Establish necessary reporting mechanisms providing insights on throughput
- Support TL/TA in case of bandwidth challenges and ensure good coverage would be available for the projects.
- Handling perceptions
- Ensure all best practices including frameworks, tools etc., are followed
- Help evaluate use of asset and components from design/code library
- Help create a list of potential assets that can be contributed to the design/code library
- Participate in client meetings and provide value adds ( DevOps, Automation etc..)
- Build great partnerships with US stakeholders and take the engagement to next levels
- Responsible in Pre-sales support, Solutioning support and review of solution
- Responsible for end to end smooth delivery
- Responsible for revenue and gross margins on allocated accounts
- Collaborate with Account Leaders to forecast and identify the upcoming upselling opportunities.
- Resource Management
- Define allocations (mix of TA, TL, Devs) for Resource Requests
- Ramp up allocated resources with necessary knowledge, skills and expectations for smooth kickoff
- Monitor weekly assignments, schedules and timecards. Ensure utilization targets of all resources in your team are met.
- Manage back-ups or alternative resources - on demand basis, during PTOs or during unexpected events
- Technical Enablements(Cross-Skill and Up-Skill) for the team members
- Leadership Activities (30 percentage of time)
- A Salesforce Project Manager is expected to exhibit true leadership in the following areas.
- Drive to get critical roles in India
- Drive end to end ownership, accountability and own practice related focus areas
- As part of the strategy team, collaborate between US and India LT to own and drive practice initiatives end to end
- Innovation and Technical Expertise
- Be the driving force for technical advancements and adoption around Force.com platform, Devops and Processes
- Establish offshore services for newer practices
- Develop strong platform knowledge, problem solving skill sets and hands on abilities
- Practice Goals
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources
- Design and drive programs to target optimum billability
- Actively review the Organization policies and work with People, Finance, IT and other teams to implement the same
- People Management (20 percentage of time)
- 1-on-1 meetings
- Addressing personal and mutual concerns
- Help identify and address any skill gaps
- Career development of development resources
- Mentor team members.
- Collaborate to design learning programs for nurturing talents
- Performance Management in alignment with organization’s goals
- Drive knowledge sharing initiatives by organizing technical presentations, ad-hoc sessions etc.
Years of Experience:
- Required - Minimum 15 or more years experience in IT/Software companies with a multinational footprint
- Required - Minimum 9 or more years experience with Salesforce.com
Qualifications:
- B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, MCA or equivalent higher experience in Computer Science is preferred.
- Required - Minimum 15 or more years experience in IT/Software companies with a multinational footprint
- Required - Minimum 9 or more years experience with Salesforce.com
- Nice to have Vlocity, nCino, Marketing and Mulesoft experience
- Nice to have any Salesforce basic certifications
