Overview:
A Salesforce developer is responsible for the technical implementation and further development of Salesforce solutions. They work closely with departments such as Sales, Marketing, or Customer Service to develop customized CRM functionalities and optimize existing processes.
Main Tasks:
- Translating requirements from business units into concrete development work packages in collaboration with IT colleagues.
- Designing and developing custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning, Visualforce, and APIs.
- Integrating third-party systems (e.g., SAP, SharePoint) into the Salesforce platform, e.g., via REST interfaces.
- Maintaining and further developing existing Salesforce components and processes.
- Error analysis and resolution as well as performance optimization.
- Documenting developments and processes in Jira and Confluence.
- Conducting thorough tests and debugging to ensure application reliability.
Requirements:
- English at least at B2 / C1 level.
- Several years of experience in developing Apex, Lightning components, and flows to extend Salesforce functionality.
- Experience with Salesforce-specific technologies such as Lightning Components, Visualforce, SOQL.
- Development and deployment of Agentforce Agents.
- Knowledge of integrating systems (e.g., SAP, SharePoint Online) is an advantage.
- Technical coordination with our implementation partner.
- Working in a 3-tier environment – dev, test, and prod.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Experience with at least Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Field Service – ideally also with Salesforce Account Engagement.
Desired Additional Qualifications:
- Salesforce certifications.
- Understanding of sales and service processes, ideally experience in mechanical engineering or industrial environments.
- Knowledge of working with ESB solutions such as Kafka or Azure Service Bus.
Work Environment & Tools at ENGEL (internal):
- Use of Salesforce combined with SAC, SAP, and SharePoint Online.
- Focus on use cases such as offer creation, customer visit planning, and document management.
- - Collaboration with internal roles from Sales, IT, Customer Service Department, and Project Management.
