ROLE SUMMARY
The Field Sales Executive will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new business opportunities across the assigned territory. You will call on construction sites, meet architects and contractors, develop dealer relationships, and grow GMG's revenue by positioning our stone products as the preferred choice. This is a high-energy, on-the-ground role requiring self-discipline, hustle, and strong relationship-building skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and execute daily field visits to construction sites, contractor offices, builder projects, and design studios within the assigned territory
• Identify and develop new B2B and project-based accounts including builders, civil contractors, interior designers, and stone dealers
• Present GMG's product portfolio (marble, granite, quartzite, engineered stone) with relevant samples and product brochures
• Generate accurate project-wise quotations, negotiate pricing within approved limits, and close orders
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers including purchase managers, site engineers, and architects
• Track active construction projects in the territory and proactively engage during the material procurement phase
• Collect market intelligence on competitor activity, pricing, and new product launches and relay findings to management
• Follow up on outstanding payments and coordinate with the accounts team for credit approval and collections
• Maintain a daily visit log, lead pipeline, and sales forecast using company-provided CRM or reporting formats
• Achieve monthly volume (sq. ft.) and revenue targets as set by the Sales Manager
• Participate in stone exhibitions, builder meets, architect forums, and trade events to promote GMG's brand
• Coordinate with the logistics and dispatch team to ensure on-time delivery to project sites

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• Graduate in any discipline (Business, Marketing, Civil, or related fields preferred)
• 2–5 years of field sales experience — building materials, tiles, paints, plywood, sanitary ware, or similar sectors strongly preferred
• Fluency in Tamil; working knowledge of English; Hindi is an added advantage
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a field-based, target-driven role
• Strong negotiation, objection handling, and relationship management skills
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working independently across the territory
• Own a two-wheeler with a valid driving licence for daily field coverage
• Basic smartphone proficiency for GPS navigation, CRM updates, WhatsApp communication, and reporting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Existing relationships with builders, contractors, or architects in Chennai and surrounding areas
• Prior experience selling stone, tiles, or premium flooring products
• Knowledge of construction project cycles and material procurement timelines
• Familiarity with competitor brands and regional stone market dynamics
