Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sales Manager role based in Chennai. The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving acquisition of new customers across relevant banking products, achieving sales targets, and expanding market presence in the assigned region. The role includes managing and developing a sales team, providing coaching and performance feedback, and ensuring consistent implementation of sales processes and best practices. The Sales Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understand their financial needs, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver tailored banking solutions. The role also involves monitoring portfolio performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies, preparing regular sales reports, and contributing insights to support business planning and growth strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in banking or financial services sales, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and acquisition targets.
- Experience in leading, mentoring, and motivating sales teams, including performance management and capability building.
- Strong customer relationship management skills, with the ability to understand client needs and offer appropriate banking solutions.
- Sound knowledge of retail, MSME, or corporate banking products, and familiarity with digital banking and UPI-driven ecosystems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse customer and stakeholder groups.
- Analytical and data-driven approach to sales planning, forecasting, and pipeline management.
- High level of integrity and adherence to compliance, risk management, and regulatory guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, target-oriented environment and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
- Local market knowledge of Chennai and surrounding regions is preferred.
