Role Description The Sales Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Chennai Area. This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities in logistics and freight forwarding, managing existing client relationships, and driving revenue growth. Daily activities include prospecting and meeting with potential customers, preparing proposals and quotations, negotiating terms, and closing sales in line with company targets. The Sales Manager collaborates closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure solutions are feasible, competitive, and aligned with client requirements. The role also involves monitoring market trends, maintaining an accurate sales pipeline, and reporting performance metrics to leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong sales and business development skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and negotiation.
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain services, with the ability to understand and sell complex solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with strong client relationship management skills.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in using CRM tools and basic MS Office applications.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of India’s import/export regulations and local market practices is a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel within the region for client meetings and industry events as needed.
