Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales Manager, based in Chennai. The Sales Manager will oversee sales activities, develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets, and maintain strong relationships with customers. Additional responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, coordinating with the marketing team, and preparing sales reports to track progress and performance.
Key Responsibilities – Sales Manager
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers; generate new leads through prospect visits and trade‑in proposals.
- Close sales by addressing objections, negotiating prices, and finalizing contracts.
- Develop and refine sales strategies based on market research and analysis.
- Ensure sales and marketing activities stay within budget.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, networking events, and relevant meetings.
- Collaborate with the sales team to source and qualify leads.
- Provide basic technical support for weighing‑instrument and automation solutions.
- Meet product‑sales revenue targets and KPI goals outlined in the business plan.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial weighing or related sectors (POS systems, AIDC, retail automation, weighing‑equipment companies).
- Proven track record in B2B channel‑sales operations.
- Ability to communicate highly technical concepts clearly to prospective clients.
- Aggressive, proactive work approach with willingness to travel as needed.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
