About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented professional to lead business development initiatives for our Defense Logistics Vertical. The role focuses on developing and managing logistics business opportunities related to defense, aerospace, PSU, government, and strategic cargo movements.
The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of freight forwarding, project logistics, DG cargo handling, and the Indian defense ecosystem, with the ability to build relationships across defense manufacturers, OEMs, PSU’s, government agencies, and strategic vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development and sales growth for the Defense Logistics Vertical.
- Identify and develop opportunities with:
- Defense PSU’s
- Aerospace companies
- Government organizations
- Defense OEM’s
- Strategic manufacturing vendors
- Handle end-to-end customer acquisition and key account management.
- Develop logistics solutions for:
- Air freight
- Ocean freight
- Project cargo
- DG / hazardous shipments
- Specialized defense cargo
- Coordinate with operations, customs, transport, and project teams for seamless execution.
- Participate in defense expos, industry forums, and networking events.
- Generate RFQ’s, commercial proposals, and strategic logistics solutions.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Track market intelligence, competitor activity, defense tenders, and upcoming projects.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue objectives.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 5–12 years of experience in freight forwarding/logistics sales.
- Prior exposure to Defense Logistics / Aerospace Logistics / Project Cargo is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of:
- Defense ecosystem in India
- PSU procurement processes
- Strategic cargo handling
- DG cargo regulations
- Existing network with defense manufacturers, PSU’s, EPC companies, or government-linked organizations will be an advantage.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive strategic business initiatives.
