Purpose of the Job
Lead the sales and business development initiatives for the assigned region/business scope to achieve annual sales, margin and growth targets. Develop and execute the sales strategy, manage the sales team and distributors, and build strong customer relationships to grow Nouryon’s market position.
About the job (Job Responsibilities)
- Achieve annual sales, margin and business growth targets versus the approved annual plan for the assigned region/business scope.
- Develop, own and implement the yearly sales plan in line with overall company and segment strategy.
- Lead, coach and motivate the sales team and distributor partners to consistently meet and exceed sales and profitability targets, fostering a high-performance and customer-centric culture.
- Set clear objectives, priorities and action plans for the team; monitor performance through defined KPIs and ensure disciplined execution.
- Understand and assess customers’ needs, business objectives and strategies; build compelling customer value propositions representing the Nouryon portfolio.
- Identify and qualify opportunities for new business; lead the development of new accounts and expansion at existing customers.
- Manage and develop distributors in accordance with company policies to ensure high-quality product and service delivery and maintain healthy market competition in the assigned area.
- Serve as the lead for contract negotiations on commercial terms; coordinate and influence internal stakeholders (e.g., supply chain, technical service, finance, marketing) to deliver best-in-class service and high customer satisfaction.
- Act as the central point of contact for customers on new product developments and innovations in the Nouryon portfolio, ensuring effective communication and successful commercialization.
- Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts, pipeline updates and demand inputs to support product availability, capacity planning and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key customers; “brick-wall” key accounts to strengthen Nouryon’s position and maximize share of wallet.
- Lead strategic account planning, opportunity management and pricing decisions within defined guidelines to optimize revenue and margin.
- Ensure timely and high-quality updates in sales systems and CRM; oversee preparation of sales and market reports and leverage data and analytics to steer business decisions.
- Collect and synthesize customer and competitor intelligence; share insights with commercial, segment and MI managers and support the development and execution of market strategies.
- Take end-to-end ownership of customer complaint (OFI) resolution, ensuring prompt follow-up, root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify, develop and mentor high-potential team members; support talent development, capability building and succession planning within the sales organization.
- Initiate and lead continuous improvement initiatives in pricing, margin management, route-to-market and service models to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
We believe you bring (Education & Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of B2B sales experience in chemicals or related industries, with at least 5 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Proven track record of delivering sales growth and managing key accounts and/or distributors.
- Experience leading and developing sales teams and working in a matrix, cross-functional environment.
