Job Description – Sales Head – Dry Caro & Business Development
Designation: Sales Head – Dry Cargo & Business Development
Department: Commercial / Sales
Location: Mumbai
Experience: 12 to 18 years
Qualifications: Graduate / Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management Reporting
Role Objective: To manage and expand the company’s Reefer cargo portfolio by developing strategic customer relationships, driving revenue growth, ensuring operational excellence, and strengthening Intercont’s market presence in temperature controlled logistics across exports, imports, and inland movements.
Position: Sales Head – Dry Cargo & Business Development (Mumbai)
Industry: Freight Forwarding / NVOCC
The selected candidate will:
• Drive dry cargo import & export , cross trade & networks sales growth
• Develop new verticals and trade lanes
• Expand SME and mid-size customer base
• Strengthen NVOCC positioning
• Build and mentor a high-performance sales team
• Own revenue, gross margin and branch-level P&L
• Improve yield discipline and pricing strategy Reefer exposure is a plus, but the primary focus is scaling dry business aggressively and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
• Acquire new dry cargo accounts (FCL/AIR focus)
• Develop sector-specific strategies (chemicals, steel, machinery, retail, etc.)
• Build predictable sales pipeline
• Negotiate freight and space with carriers
• Manage pricing discipline to protect margins
• Lead a team of 5–15 sales professionals
• Align sales with operations for service delivery excellence
• Drive profitability, not just topline
