Role Description The Sales Executive role is a full-time, on-site position based at AVM Fabrics and Fashions showrooms in Chennai. The Sales Executive is responsible for welcoming customers, understanding their needs, and recommending suitable products to ensure a positive shopping experience. Daily tasks include assisting with product selection, managing trial rooms, handling billing and cash transactions, and maintaining accurate sales records. The role also involves ensuring merchandise is well-presented, maintaining store cleanliness, and supporting stock management and visual merchandising. Sales Executives are expected to meet sales targets, build strong customer relationships, and collaborate with the store team to achieve overall performance goals.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, listen actively, and build rapport with a diverse customer base.
- Sales and negotiation abilities, including upselling, cross-selling, and working towards individual and store-level sales targets.
- Basic retail operations skills such as handling POS systems, cash management, billing, and inventory support.
- Clear spoken communication skills in English and local languages, and the ability to explain product features and offers effectively.
- Attention to detail in store presentation, visual merchandising, and maintaining brand standards.
- Prior experience in fashion or apparel retail is an advantage; freshers with strong motivation and learning mindset are also encouraged to apply.
- Ability to work on rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays as per retail business requirements.
- Minimum educational qualification: completion of secondary education; additional training in sales or retail management is a plus.
