Role Purpose
The Manufacturing Sales Director leads commercial strategy aligned with production capability, ensuring profitable revenue growth while balancing plant capacity, product mix complexity, delivery commitments, and operational constraints.
This role integrates market demand with manufacturing execution —ensuring sales commitments are operationally feasible and commercially optimized.

Core Strategic Responsibilities
1. Commercial Strategy Integrated With Manufacturing
Define revenue strategy aligned with plant capacity and
productivity.
Ensure product mix optimization for profitability and efficiency.
Balance high-volume vs high-margin vs strategic products.
Drive demand shaping aligned with manufacturing strengths.
Align offline vs online production implications into sales strategy.
Sales should support manufacturing efficiency — not create chaos.
2. Revenue Quality & Profitability Leadership
Move beyond volume-driven sales:
Drive contribution margin improvement.
Define strategic pricing architecture.
Eliminate low-value, low-productivity orders.
Improve revenue per machine hour / production slot.
3. Capacity-Based Sales Planning
Translate production constraints into sales planning.
Collaborate with production planning for realistic forecasting.
Manage peak load vs idle capacity.
Develop structured order intake governance.
Sales Director becomes capacity optimizer.
4. Cross Functional Commercial Governance
Strong integration with:
Production
Planning
Procurement
Quality
Dispatch
Responsibilities include:
Prevent over-promising delivery dates.
Align customer expectations with operational reality.
Resolve sales vs operations conflicts strategically.
5. Product Portfolio & Market Strategy
Identify which product categories:

Optimize plant efficiency
Phase out unprofitable or disruptive SKUs where required.

Own enterprise-level customer negotiations.

Sales vs production efficiency correlation

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related
field.
20–25+ years of progressive sales experience.
Minimum 10+ years in a senior leadership role with reporting of all
sales teams across the world and across the products line.
Experience in B2B or manufacturing sales preferred.
