The Opportunity
We are looking for a high-energy, self-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to own the
top of the sales funnel. You will be responsible for generating new leads, qualifying inbound leads
from the marketing team, and building a robust pipeline of sales-qualified opportunities for the
closing team.
This is a front-line role — you will be the first point of contact for many prospects. You need to
understand client needs quickly, assess ESG maturity and readiness, and determine fit with Oren’s
offerings before passing qualified opportunities to the sales tea
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation
• Proactively generate leads through LinkedIn outreach, cold emails, cold calls, and cold
visits to target accounts
• Research and build a pipeline of prospects within Oren’s target sectors (Manufacturing,
Pharma, BFSI, FMCG, Infrastructure, Services, Logistics)
• Identify and engage decision-makers: CFOs, CSOs, Heads of Sustainability, Procurement,
Compliance, and Operations
• Leverage Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other prospecting tools to source high-
intent accounts
Lead Qualification
• Qualify inbound leads generated by the marketing and lead generation team against
defined criteria (company size, ESG maturity, regulatory needs, budget, and timeline)
• Conduct discovery conversations to understand the prospect’s sustainability challenges,
reporting requirements, and pain points
• Assess fit with Oren’s service offerings (BRSR, GRI, CDP, EcoVadis, GHG Accounting, Supply
Chain Sustainability, Decarbonisation, and more)
• Score and prioritise leads, and schedule discovery calls and product demos for the Sales
Team with high-potential prospects
Pipeline & CRM Management
• Maintain accurate records of all lead generation activities, conversations, and engagement
in CRM (Zoho Bigin)
• Achieve and exceed sales-qualified lead (SQL) targets on a quarterly basis
• Collaborate with the marketing team to handle leads from campaigns, webinars, and
content initiatives
• Provide regular feedback from market interactions to improve sales messaging,
positioning, and targeting
Market Intelligence
• Stay updated on ESG regulations (SEBI BRSR, CSRD, CBAM), sustainability trends, and
industry-specific challenges to tailor outreach
• Track competitor activity (Credibl ESG, Updapt, Greenstone, Watershed, etc.) and report
insights to the sales leadership
• Understand industry-specific sustainability language to communicate credibly with
prospects
Who You Are
Must-Have
• 1–3 years of experience in inside sales, lead generation, business development, or SDR
roles (B2B SaaS or consulting preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to generate leads through cold calling, cold emailing, LinkedIn
outreach, and field visits
• Strong communication and persuasion skills — both verbal and written
• Comfortable making 40–50+ cold calls/outreach touches per day
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and cold visits
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with CRM tools (Zoho, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)
• Immediate joiner or available within 15 days
Nice-to-Have
• Knowledge of or genuine interest in ESG, sustainability, carbon accounting, or climate
regulations
• Prior experience selling to C-level executives or sustainability/compliance teams
• Experience with sales engagement tools (Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Lusha, etc.)
• Understanding of the Indian regulatory ESG landscape (SEBI BRSR, GRI Standards, CDP)
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related
field
