Title: Sales Development Representative (SDR) – New Client Acquisition
Location: Bangalore
Experience:
2-4 years of experience in financial services sales or client engagement
Experience in at least one of the following:
- Mutual Fund Distribution (MFD)
- Wealth Advisory / RIA setups
- PMS / HNI wealth product sales
Role Overview:
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) – New Client Acquisition will be responsible for engaging inbound Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and converting them into qualified consultations with financial experts.
This role combines structured prospecting, consultative discovery, objection handling, and disciplined follow-ups. It serves as an entry point into long-term client advisory and relationship management roles within the organization.
The SDR will own the first interaction with prospects, assess fitment, understand financial intent, and ensure seamless handoffs to advisory experts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Engagement & Qualification
- Connect with inbound MQLs through calls and callback requests.
- Understand prospect goals, investment intent, and financial context.
- Conduct high-level discovery conversations to assess suitability for advisory consultation.
- Handle objections related to trust, timing, fees, or existing advisors with empathy and professionalism.
- Build rapport and establish credibility during early-stage conversations.
2. Follow-ups, Pipeline Management & CRM Hygiene
- Maintain strong follow-up discipline across active leads.
- Schedule callbacks and ensure timely engagement as per SLAs.
- Accurately update CRM with call notes, dispositions, outcomes, and next steps.
- Identify and tag invalid, duplicate, or low-quality leads based on defined processes.
- Ensure data accuracy and pipeline visibility.
3. Meeting Booking & Advisor Handoffs
- Schedule qualified consultations with appropriate financial experts.
- Prepare clear handoff notes covering:
- Prospect goals
- Investment intent
- Financial background
- Urgency/timeline
- Concerns and objections
- Coordinate confirmations and reschedules to improve meeting attendance rates.
4. Compliance & Customer Experience
- Adhere to DND/consent regulations and internal compliance policies.
- Use approved communication frameworks and templates.
- Deliver a professional, trustworthy, and client-centric experience.
Success Metrics (KPIs):
- Speed and consistency of lead engagement
- Qualified meetings booked
- Meeting show-up rates
- Quality and clarity of advisor handoffs
- CRM accuracy and hygiene
- Follow-up effectiveness and conversion rates
Skills Required:
- Strong consultative selling and phone-based communication skills
- Ability to explain investment concepts in simple, client-friendly language
- Knowledge of:
- Mutual Funds
- Advisory vs Distribution models
- PMS basics
- Goal-based investing
- Risk profiling
- Excellent objection handling and relationship-building ability
- High ownership mindset and follow-up discipline
- Strong written communication for WhatsApp/email follow-ups and CRM notes
- Comfortable working with CRM tools and sales workflows
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- 2-4 years of experience in financial services sales or client engagement
- Experience in at least one of the following:
- Mutual Fund Distribution (MFD)
- Wealth Advisory / RIA setups
- PMS / HNI wealth product sales
- Prior exposure to investment conversations and lead conversion
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Commerce, BBA, or Engineering preferred)
Good to Have:
- Exposure to HNI or Mass Affluent clients
- NISM certifications (MF / Investment Adviser / PMS preferred)
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification
