Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role. The Business Development Manager will identify and pursue new partnership opportunities with educational institutions, coaching centers, and other relevant stakeholders to expand KollegeApply’s reach. The role includes building and maintaining strong relationships with partners, conducting meetings and presentations, and negotiating mutually beneficial agreements. The individual will analyze market trends, gather competitive intelligence, and provide feedback to internal teams to refine offerings and go-to-market strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities also include managing a sales pipeline, meeting growth targets, preparing reports and forecasts, and collaborating with marketing and product teams to drive student engagement and conversions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnerships, preferably in education, edtech, or related sectors.
- Strong skills in lead generation, prospecting, and relationship management with institutional and B2B stakeholders.
- Ability to conduct impactful presentations, negotiate contracts, and close deals in a target-oriented environment.
- Comfort with using CRM tools, spreadsheets, and basic data analysis to manage pipelines and track performance metrics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional regional languages is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
- Understanding of the Indian higher education ecosystem, entrance exams, and admissions processes is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and adapt to a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
- Willingness to travel regionally as needed for partner meetings, events, and outreach activities.
