ABOUT PRECIMEASURE
Precimeasure designs and manufactures specialised protection instruments and monitoring solutions for power transformers. Our products safeguard transformer assets across utilities, industrial plants, and OEM applications. We are expanding our commercial and technical teams to accelerate market development and revenue growth in the power sector.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are recruiting for two roles that share a common technical and commercial foundation, but differ in their primary focus. Shortlisted candidates will be considered for placement in either role based on their profile, aptitude, and organisational fit.
Sales Engineer
Department: Sales Management
Primary focus on revenue generation, market share growth, and new customer acquisition. The Sales Engineer owns the commercial relationship and drives order closure.
Application Engineer
Department: Market Development
Primary focus on developing new products, new applications, and expanding product adoption with new and existing customers. The Application Engineer supports the Sales function with deep technical expertise.
ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
While both roles share a common skill base, the information below outlines the distinct accountability each position carries.
Sales Engineer:
• Achieve assigned sales revenue targets and grow market share in the designated territory.
• Identify, develop, and convert new customer accounts across transformer OEMs, utilities, EPC contractors, and industrial plants.
• Own the complete sales cycle: prospecting, technical discussions, proposal submission, negotiation, and order closure.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers — purchase, maintenance, and projects teams.
• Forecast pipeline, maintain CRM hygiene, and report progress against targets.
• Coordinate with the Application Engineering team for technical support in complex deals.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market trends; feed intelligence back to management.
Application Engineer:
• Identify and develop new product applications and use cases within the transformer protection and monitoring domain.
• Conduct detailed technical discussions with customers to understand application requirements and propose solutions.
• Drive product approvals and qualifications with transformer OEMs, utilities, and end users.
• Support the Sales team with technical presentations, proposals, and demonstrations to accelerate deal closure.
• Collaborate with Product Development team to translate field feedback into new product features or variants.
• Conduct application training for customers, channel partners, and internal sales teams.
• Document application notes, case studies, and technical reports to build the product knowledge base.
SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES
Both the Sales Engineer and Application Engineer are expected to fulfill the following:
Customer & Technical Engagement
Understand customer technical requirements for transformer protection and monitoring applications.
Recommend appropriate Precimeasure products and solutions based on site and system needs.
Prepare technical proposals, datasheets, product comparisons, and solution presentations.
Conduct product demonstrations and technical training sessions for customers and end users.
Product & Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with Development and engineering teams for product customisation requirements.
Support the service team during installation and commissioning at customer sites.
Ensure all solutions comply with relevant industry standards and customer specifications.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain and update application notes, case studies, site visit reports, and compliance records.
- Use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to prepare professional technical documentation and reports.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Domain Knowledge ← Primary Screening Criterion
• Proven technical selling ability — experience selling engineering products and translating technical specifications into customer value. Exposure to power industry products (protection relays, meters, monitoring instruments, switchgear, or similar) is strongly preferred.
• Sound understanding of the application domain of protective instruments in the power industry — including transformer protection schemes, protection relay coordination, and monitoring of parameters such as temperature, oil level, gas detection, and winding conditions.
• Working familiarity with transformer protection and monitoring devices: Buchholz relays, RTDs/thermostats, PRDs, oil level indicators, winding temperature indicators, or protection relay schemes.
Technical Skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Experience in installation, commissioning, and servicing of transformer and substation equipment is an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office — Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Commercial & Interpersonal Skills
• Customer-focused attitude with a willingness to engage at all levels — from site engineers to procurement managers.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills; ability to present confidently to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Analytical mindset with a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Basic project coordination skills: follow-up, tracking, and time management.
Language
• Good written and verbal communication in English. Proficiency in spoken Hindi is a prerequisite. Communication skills in other regional languages would be a bonus.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) or Diploma in Engineering.

• Industrial Engineering
EXPERIENCE
• 2–3 years in technical sales, application engineering, or field support of engineering products.
• Demonstrated exposure to the power sector: transformer OEMs, electrical utilities, EPC contractors, or industrial power systems.
• Familiarity with protection instruments, monitoring devices, or allied products is a strong advantage.
• Experience in installation, commissioning, and servicing of transformer and substation equipment is desirable.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)
Sales Engineer
- Achievement of sales revenue and order targets
- Growth in market share in assigned territory/accounts
- Number of new accounts converted per quarter
- Conversion rate of proposals to orders
- Average response time to customer queries and leads
Application Engineer
- Revenue contribution from new product/application wins
- Expansion of product presence in new application areas
- Number of new customer qualifications and approvals achieved
- Accuracy and quality of technical proposals and application notes
- Average response time to technical queries from customers and Sales team
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Office-based work combined with regular travel (>50%) to customer sites — transformer OEMs, utilities, and industrial plants.
• Close collaboration with internal teams: product development, sales, application engineering, and production.
• Willingness to travel pan-India.
