The Role
We are hiring an Application Sales Engineer who can walk a factory floor, read the machines, and connect what they see to the right sensor, IO,Link, or IIoT solution.
This is a consultative, field, heavy role. You will spend the majority of your time at customer sites in Mumbai, Pune, and Nashik and surrounding areas, conducting plant walks, mapping sensor applications, building relationships with maintenance managers, plant engineers, project teams, and OEM design engineers, and converting technical conversations into quotations and orders.
You sell business outcomes: uptime improvement, energy cost reduction, predictive maintenance capability, and production visibility. You start with discovery questions, not a product catalogue.
What You Will Do
Field Work (60–70% of your time)
• Conduct regular plant visits across the Mumbai–Pune–Nashik industrial belt, covering assigned accounts by geography, industry, or both.
• Perform plant walk,throughs: identify where position sensors, process sensors, condition monitoring, IO,Link, and IIoT solutions can add value on existing machines and lines.
• Run structured discovery conversations with maintenance, production, plant management, projects, and IT/OT stakeholders ,each with different priorities (breakdowns vs. throughput vs. CapEx vs. security).
• Demonstrate products and IIoT platforms on,site; execute proof of concept deployments on one machine or one line to prove ROI before expanding.
• Introduce new products, applications, and ideas; develop rapport; gather market intelligence on competitor activity and customer pain points.
• Photograph and video,document applications, deployments, and site conditions for internal reference and marketing support.
Office Work (30–40%)
• Prepare and send quotations under supervision (initially), progressing to independent quotation authority.
• Review enquiries from email, website, indiamart, and other lead sources daily.
• Follow up on open quotations: confirm receipt, note next actions, track conversion.
• Maintain CRM with visit notes, contact data, quotation status, and pipeline updates.
• Plan visits systematically: Day+1 and Day+3 based on geography; Day+5 and Day+7 for pipeline rotation.
• Conduct category rotation of products to ensure full portfolio coverage across your territory.
• Perform weekly sales analysis and pipeline review.
What We Are Looking For
Must Have
• Engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience in industrial sales, application engineering, or field service involving sensors, instrumentation, or automation products. Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude and a genuine interest in factory,floor work will be considered.
• Willingness to travel 3–4 days per week across Mumbai, Pune, and Nashik industrial areas.
• Fluent in English, Hindi, and Marathi ,you will speak to shop,floor maintenance teams in Marathi and write quotations in English.
• Ability to learn product families quickly and map them to customer applications during plant walk,throughs.
• Commercial instinct: comfort with quotation preparation, follow,up cadence, pipeline tracking, and CRM discipline.
