Role Description The Sales and Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. The role involves promoting and demonstrating bio-tech instruments and automation solutions to research institutes, laboratories, and industrial clients, while identifying customer needs and proposing appropriate products and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting technical presentations, supporting installation and commissioning of equipment, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely service delivery. The engineer will maintain relationships with existing customers, prepare quotations and basic technical documentation, track sales leads and service requests, and provide feedback on market trends and customer requirements. The role also requires regular field visits, clear communication of technical concepts, and adherence to company processes and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong technical skills in biotechnology, instrumentation, or related engineering fields, with the ability to understand and explain scientific applications.
- Candidates should possess customer-focused skills, including relationship management, clear communication, and the ability to identify and address client requirements.
- Candidates should possess problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for handling installation, maintenance, and service issues on-site.
- Candidates should possess organizational skills for managing field visits, documentation, and coordination between sales, service, and support teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Instrumentation, Life Sciences, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Prior experience in sales, service, or application support for laboratory or bio-tech instruments will be an advantage.
- Ability to travel within the region, work independently, and adapt to dynamic customer and project needs.
- Comfort with basic computer tools (email, CRM, office productivity software) and willingness to learn new systems as required.
