Shannon Center Clerical - Summer Student Employment

About the Department

The Shannon Center Clerical student worker position is responsible for providing a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all users of the University’s athletic facility, including students, faculty, staff, and community members. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the fitness center and promotes a positive experience for all guests.

Position Duties

• Greet all patrons upon entry and verify membership status

• Monitor access and ensure all users are following facility policies and guidelines

• Provide general information about equipment, programs, special events, and membership options

• Assist with basic cleaning and sanitization of equipment and facility areas

• Report any maintenance or safety issues to manager.

• Enforce rules in a respectful and professional manner

• Assist with set up or take down for special programs and events

• Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned

• Answer phone and take notes as needed

Minimum Qualifications

MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY

Must be Federal Work Study Eligible

Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter

• Must be a currently enrolled college student

• Friendly, approachable, and customer service-oriented

• Ability to work independently and take initiative

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Punctual and reliable

• CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred

• Knowledge of fitness equipment and safety procedures is a plus
