About the role

The House Manager helps provide a safe, caring, and supportive home for mothers and their babies. This position supports daily needs in the home, helps moms work toward their personal goals, and makes sure the program runs smoothly during each shift. Under the guidance of the Residential Program Specialist, the House Manager helps with life skills, appointments, and overall support. This role makes a positive difference in the lives of mothers, babies, and the team who works with them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the house, including buying food, organizing Food Bank items, handling housekeeping needs, restocking supplies, and reporting any problems.
  • Help program participants work toward personal goals as assigned by the Director.
  • Provide child care and transportation for participants when needed.
  • Teach life skills, give encouragement, and support parenting education.
  • Help solve conflicts and respond during stressful or crisis situations.
  • Stay trained as a Real Alternatives counselor and provide all approved services.
  • Collect data needed for reports, and write daily notes for each participant.
  • Follow the mission and policies of St. Joseph’s Center while showing respect for all cultural backgrounds.
  • Attend staff meetings and community events as requested.
  • Attend required trainings, programs, and seminars for continuing education.

Be flexible with changes in duties, schedules, and program needs.

What’s Required of You:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage household tasks.
  • Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Ability to keep confidentiality for residents and staff.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills, internet, and email skills
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid PA Driver’s License
