Job Summary
Heritage High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher specializing in Biology and Chemistry to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science and foster critical thinking skills through innovative teaching methods. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages student curiosity and academic success.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards for Biology and Chemistry.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student progress through regular evaluations, tests, and assignments, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and collaboration.
- Organize and conduct laboratory experiments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper use of equipment.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance interdisciplinary learning and share best practices.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and progress.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and scientific advancements.
- Engage in school-wide activities and contribute to the overall mission and goals of Heritage High School.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Valid Michigan teaching certification for Secondary Education.
- Proven experience teaching Biology and Chemistry at the high school level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of science curriculum standards and best teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and build positive relationships.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Commitment to fostering a love of science and encouraging student engagement in the subject matter.
