We are seeking a seasoned Workday Adaptive Planning Lead to own and evolve our enterprise planning platform in close partnership with FP&A and Finance leadership. This role is responsible for driving the design, optimization, and ongoing management of Workday Adaptive Planning, ensuring it enables high-quality forecasting, scenario modeling, and decision support across the organization.
This is an in-house role focused on long-term platform ownership, continuous improvement, and deep business partnership. The ideal candidate combines strong FP&A expertise with hands-on Adaptive Planning experience and the ability to translate financial strategy into scalable planning models.

Key Responsibilities
FP&A Partnership & Planning Enablement
- Act as the primary Adaptive Planning partner for FP&A, supporting annual planning, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and management reporting
- Collaborate with Finance leadership to understand business drivers and design planning models that support strategic decision-making
- Enable scenario modeling and what-if analysis to support executive and business unit planning
Adaptive Planning Ownership & Design
- Own the Workday Adaptive Planning platform, including model design, configuration, security, and performance
- Design and maintain planning models for budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, capital planning, and strategic initiatives
- Ensure planning models are scalable, intuitive, and aligned with evolving business needs
Roadmap, Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Define and manage the Adaptive Planning roadmap, prioritizing enhancements based on FP&A needs and business value
- Establish governance standards for model changes, assumptions, calculations, and master data
- Stay current on Workday Adaptive releases and proactively recommend enhancements that improve usability and insight
Integration & Data Alignment
- Partner with Finance Systems, HR, and IT teams to ensure accurate and timely data flows between Adaptive Planning, Workday Financials, HR systems, and other data sources
- Monitor data integrity, reconcile results, and resolve discrepancies impacting forecasts and reports
Testing, Support & Adoption
- Lead testing cycles for new models, enhancements, and release updates
- Provide ongoing production support, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Drive user adoption through training, documentation, and ongoing enablement
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure planning processes and system configurations align with internal controls, audit standards, and financial governance requirements
- Support Finance leadership during audits and reviews related to planning processes and data
Key Skills & Qualifications
FP&A & Finance Expertise
- Strong hands-on FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and executive reporting
- Experience supporting complex planning environments (multi-entity, multi-currency, global operations)
- Ability to translate business strategy into effective planning and analytics solutions
Workday Adaptive Planning Expertise
- Hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning model design and configuration
- Strong knowledge of Adaptive sheets, assumptions, calculations, and dashboards
- Experience integrating Adaptive Planning with Workday Financials and HR data
Collaboration & Leadership
- Proven ability to partner closely with FP&A leadership and business stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, business-oriented mindset
- Clear communicator able to explain planning concepts and system logic to non-technical users
- Experience acting as a platform owner or product lead is highly desirable
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 7+ years of Finance / FP&A experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning
- Workday Adaptive Planning certification is a plus
