Key Responsibilities Of a Safety Officer
- Policy Development: Creating, reviewing, and updating occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures .
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to local, state, and national safety laws (e.g., OSHA).
- Risk Management: Performing, identifying, and mitigating risks through hazard identification and safety audits .
- Incident Investigation: Investigating accidents, maintaining records, and recommending corrective actions.
- Training: Organizing and conducting safety drills, workshops, and awareness programs.
