Safety & Operations Manager – US Trucking & Fleet Operations

Alpha Lion Logistics is a US-based trucking and transportation company operating dedicated freight, dry van operations, fleet management, and supply chain services across the United States.
We operate in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment where safety, operational efficiency, maintenance control, and compliance are critical to company performance.
We are seeking a highly capable Safety & Operations Manager who understands both compliance AND real trucking operations.
Important Note About This Role:
- This is NOT a basic compliance or paperwork position.
We are specifically looking for someone with REAL operational trucking knowledge, including:
• Fleet maintenance understanding
• Trucking repair coordination
• Trailer and tractor issue management
• Mechanic oversight
• Roadside breakdown prevention
• Operational discipline
• DOT/FMCSA compliance
• Driver management
Candidates without real trucking operations exposure may not be suitable.
Core Responsibilities:
Fleet Operations Management
• Oversee daily US trucking operations and operational workflow
• Coordinate with dispatch, safety, tracking, and maintenance teams
• Ensure operational efficiency across drivers, equipment, and freight movement
• Reduce downtime and improve fleet utilization
Safety & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, HOS, ELD requirements, DQ files, and safety audit standards
• Monitor CSA scores, violations, safety events, and compliance trends
• Handle corrective action plans and risk mitigation
Maintenance & Repair Oversight:
• Coordinate and oversee truck repairs, trailer repairs, preventive maintenance schedules, and roadside breakdown management
• Work closely with mechanics, repair vendors, and fleet teams
• Review repair estimates and maintenance invoices
• Identify repeat failures and operational maintenance problems
• Help reduce unnecessary repair costs and roadside incidents
Yard & Mechanic Coordination:
• Assist in managing operations across multiple yards
• Coordinate workflow for mechanics and repair scheduling
• Monitor repair timelines, equipment readiness, and maintenance quality
• Ensure accountability within maintenance operations
Reporting & Operations Analysis:
• Maintain compliance records, permits, insurance documents, and operational reports
• Track KPIs related to safety, downtime, breakdowns, violations, and operational efficiency
• Provide management with operational and compliance reporting
Preferred Qualifications Mandatory:
• 5+ years experience in US trucking, transportation, logistics, or fleet operations
• Strong knowledge of:
- FMCSA regulations
- DOT compliance
- HOS
- ELD systems
- Fleet safety
- Trucking operations
- Maintenance coordination
Strongly Preferred
• Experience handling fleet maintenance operations, trucking repairs, roadside management, mechanic coordination, and dry van operations
• Experience working with US carriers or logistics companies
• Strong understanding of trucking equipment and maintenance failures
Additional Advantage
• Prior experience managing multiple yards, mechanics, repair vendors, and fleet maintenance systems
• Strong analytical and operational decision-making skills
